There was a young man in Damascus the capital of Syria in the days of the previous tabiin. The young man came to a mosque called At-Taubah mosque. Inside the mosque lived a shaykh at the same time and a pious educator. The young man intends to meet the shaykh who is in the mosque to study religion,
The youth said:
Yes shaykh, I am a poor young man has nothing but I want to study religion. Can I ride in the mosque with you, I help you and help me live with you (eat a drink with you).
The shaykh said:
Please, no problem. But you must be patient to follow my life. What I eat, that's what you eat and what I drink, that's what you drink.
The youth said:
"Okay shaykh"
Time goes, until the young man has been in the mosque with the shaykh (teacher) for 3 months. But it turns out during the 3 months young man was at the mosque, the young man was very surprised and amazed by the life of the shaykh, Zuhud his extraordinary. When there is food to eat and when there is no food he fasts, Sahur only with a date and water. Open satisfied also so.
And today the young man has fast for 3 consecutive days, dawn and break fast still with dates and water. On fasting this third day the young man felt very weak and no longer able to withstand hunger, because only eat dates and drink water for dawn and break the fast. To withstand hunger, the young man until he bends his back forward pressing the stomach so that hunger can disappear.

Under such circumstances, Satan came to confuse the young man's mind. By saying:
"Young
man, now it is lawful for you to steal, if you do not steal food, where
are you going to eat, while your teacher forbids you to ask and no one
else gives you food You will starve to death if you do not eat .."
Appears
in the mind of the young man's mind to steal food (a piece of bread).
In a state of mind that rages. The young man plans to steal food at the
house next to the mosque.
Finally
the young man started heading to the first house that was beside the
mosque to steal food. He climbed to the roof of the house by climbing
through a wall made of palm leaves. When successfully climbed up and up
on the roof of the first house (the roof of the house made of palm
leaves, so can see through between the roof of the house made from palm
leaves), through the palm-leaf roof the young men saw 3 women who do not
cover the aurat. Finally he looked away because he knew that the non
mahram was unlawful to see his private parts. Because the real purpose
is to find food.
The
young man eventually moved into the second house next to the first
house to achieve his goal of getting food (a piece of bread). Upon
reaching the second house, the young man looked from the roof over the
house and found that the house was empty. From the roof he smelled the
cooking coming from the kitchen. Finally being so hungry, the young man
came down inside and into the kitchen. In the kitchen, he found a pot
that was being used to cook with firewood. As soon as the pot is open,
two eggplants are being boiled using water.
Because
so hungry, the young man finally took one eggplant is then bitten and
chewed. In conditions mengunyak eggplant and want to menelanya, suddenly
appeared the youthful devotion to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Appears
fear to God. Then came the thought of the young man:
Subhanallah, the devil has managed to make me commit 3 sins at once ...
1. Enter the house of a person without permission,
2. Steal (take the eggplant),
3. Eat illegal food.
Then another thought occurred:
It is unlikely that God will make me die of hunger just for leaving something forbidden, for the Prophet Muhammad said:
If you forsake something for Allah, Allah will surely give you better (Psalm Ahmad 5: 363)
For
fear of Allah, the young man spewed the chewed eggplant onto the
kitchen floor and returned to the mosque where he lived. When he
returned to the mosque was there is pengajian. But because it was so
hungry, the young man was not so understand what is being conveyed.
After the Qur'an recital, the shaykh or youth teacher sat in his chair
and the young man was sitting on the pillar of the mosque.
A
few moments later a woman entered the mosque to meet the teacher. Both
are talking about something. Soon, the Shaykh (teacher) raised his head
and looked at the young man and called him.
"Come here my disciple"
The young man approached, then the teacher asked the boy,
"Are you married", asked the teacher
"Not yet," the young man replied
"Do you want to get married?", Asked his teacher
The young man said nothing,
For the second time the teacher asked,
"Do you want to get married?"
The young man was still silent, until three times asked still silent. Finally the young man replied:
"Shaykh (teacher), if I marry..want to be fed from where my wife is, whereas now I live with you, what you eat I eat and what you drink I drink.Today we have fasted for three day and still have no food to eat "
Then the young shaykh (teacher) said:
"This is beside me there is a woman who has just finished her iddah period, her husband is dead / has died, she is left enough and young enough to want to get married for fear of slander She wants me to find a mate. You're right, do you want me to marry him? "
The young man replied: "yes shaykh"
And the shayk asked the woman, "Do you want to marry this young man?"
The woman replied: "yes shaykh"
Shaykh came out of the room and was taken pitcher as dowry, summoned the guardian of the women, summoned by two witnesses, then the marriage ceremony and finished in a matter of minutes. Then the shaykh told the boy,
"Go home to your wife", "Later if you want to pray, worship, etc. please you come to the mosque, now no longer need to ride in the mosque"
The young man finally came home with his new wife. On the way back both still look embarrassed, because both have just met and recently married. On the way back to his wife's house, the young man passed the first house where he had wanted to steal at the house, then when in front of the second house, his wife stopped and said to the boy,
"O my husband, this is our home".
The young man was surprised, because this is where he had wanted to steal food. Then the young man came into the house and into the living room. While in the living room he looked up to see if this was the house he had entered. And it was true that this was the house he had been in.
Suddenly the young man's wife said,
"O my husband, I heard you have not eaten for three days Do you want to eat?"
The young man replied: "yes"
His wife then went into the kitchen. In the kitchen he found an open pot and eggplant that had been bitten. The spontaneous woman said:
"Who eats my eggplant"
Hearing this, her husband immediately memenaggil his wife and began to tell stories,
"By Allah, this is the story ,,,". He tells from the beginning of hunger, climbs first house, second, goes into the house and bites the eggplant until it will eat it ... "He went on to say to his wife:" And By Allah, before the eggs I swallow, I fear Allah, I throw the eggplant (vomit) to the floor of your kitchen, and you can check, the vomit is now not dry ".
Then the woman said:
"O my husband, you abandon a lump of unclean food, then God made the food, the pan, his house and even the owner of the house so yours now"
Subhan Allah...
It turns out that if we leave something for God, then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will replace it with a better thing and more fold. From the real story above, we can understand that God is not only eliminate hunger from the youth. But more than that, the hunger, the pot, the house and its owner eventually become his because he left something for fear of Allah subhanahu wa taala. And Allah replied directly with a doubled reply.
Remember once again the words of the Prophet (s) mentioned by one of the Companions,
"If you abandon something for Allah, Allah will surely give you a better one."
