No one wanted a plane hijacking, let alone the plane flew to its destination. However, not everyone also knows that behind the incident there is a lesson.
A story about this is mentioned by Sulaiman ibn Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Uthaim in his book Salwa Hazin. Here is the story.
*****
I've attended an assembly. One of the attendees told the story of a Kuwaiti man who met him.
The Kuwaiti man suffered from a disease of his digestive organs since a few years ago. He had sought treatment in his country and in some other Arab countries, but to no avail.
After that, someone told him about the greatness of a hospital in England, so he went there at the end of 1396 AH, and stayed there for almost 40 days.
However, it turns out the doctors confirmed to him that they did not manage to diagnose the disease. Therefore, he is preparing to travel back home with a plane from a British Airlines company.
As soon as the plane took off and its height had stabilized, suddenly a flock of gunmen announced that the plane was hijacked. They asked the pilot to direct the plane to Germany and get off at Berlin airport.
The Kuwaiti said,
"We, the passengers experience great panic and sadness. We are going to fight, but our minds are distracted by many possibilities.
Therefore, among us some are just crying, some are reading hauqalah (La haula wala quwwata illa billah), some are reading other prayers, and some are not talking at all.
Syahdan, the plane was down at Berlin airport. The passengers were frightened. Then the hijackers started negotiating by phone with the airport's controllers.
We stayed on the plane for about eight hours, then the hijackers allowed for dinner to the passengers provided by the airport.
Furthermore, we stayed on the plane for two days under the circumstances. They do not allow anything other than serving a few mouthfuls of food.
Therefore, during that period, my illness and my suffering got worse. From time to time I vomited and my condition got worse.
On the morning of the third day, the hijackers agreed to free the passengers. Among those who participated in the execution process of people who were imprisoned in the plane, there was a group of airport doctors.
